About ready to pull the radiator out. But now that I’ve got all this room for activities where the shroud and radiator cover were I am thinking getting the electric fan replacement.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And here’s another picture of the fan on the radiator.

I’d say it would be worth it, will give you better control and a little bump in performance.

Can you walk me through your conversion? Was it an aftermarket or second stock electric fan?

the long story
http://oppositelock.kinja.com/when-your-reco…
TL;DR
take the fan, clutch, and pulley off. my tensioner took up the slack so I didn;t need a new belt. the fan mounts with some zip-tie type things thru the radiator and self tapping screws to the bottom. The wiring was just finding the correct wire. The kit I bought had everything, the new alum. shroud, electrical connections, wires, wiring diagram.....

Dude, replace the motor mounts. That is your problem. Putting in a shitty electric fan that draws 40 amps in place of the 4000CFM beast of a clutch fan will not fix your problem.

That is also 40 extra amp load on the alternator, which could burn it out faster...maybe...depending

And a XJ uses like a 90A alt at most.

If I had the money to buy that I would.

The second one is more what I was sharing for the junkyard parts.
Also naxja has tons of good info.

Yeah I’ve been reading up on the Taurus fan conversions today. More than likely what I’ll do since it blows a stupid high CFM. I’ll have it wired to a switch in the Jeep so I can run it myself.
